as part of the cultural program of the stockholm furniture fair, designboom hosted a group exhibition of around 30 international design professionals from around the world. for the first time in sweden, the mart provided an unprecedented opportunity to meet the young avant-garde and become familiar with their work. visitors were able to buy designsouvenirs and limited edition pieces directly from the designers themselves.

Kyouei design created a lighting installation for designboom mart.

as part of the cultural program of 100%design tokyo, designboom hosted a group exhibition of around 35 international design professionals from around the world. in it's third year the tokyo mart, once again provided an unprecedented opportunity to meet the young avant-garde and become familiar with their work. visitors were able to buy design souvenirs and limited edition pieces directly from the designers themselves.

kouichi okamoto's exhibition

Okamoto held his solo exhibition at the Shizuoka Prefectural Museum of Art. On one floor, he arranged 15 TV monitors displaying the Color Light DVDs to create a sequential gradation. Other floors displayed many Honeycomb Lamps, be paper-based designs, and 200 Balloon Lamps hung together.

Jesper Larsson organized an exhibition for some of the creations of Kouichi Okamoto called "One Week &Three Items" in Gothenburg, Sweden.

Next Century Modern & Tokyo Style in Gothenburg presents the exhibition One Week & Three Items by Japanese music artist and designer KOUICHI OKAMOTO. Three items are exhibited: 1) BALLOON LAMP a nu-traditional balloon lamp based on Japanese Chochin lamps from the Edo period 2) COLOR LIGHT a dvd that turns any tv into a colorful installation 3) RANDOM a cd which played on random mode creates an infinite melody.
