kouichi okamoto has designed a special light installation exclusively for the tokyo designboom mart at tokyo designers week 2010, using a series of the lamps which were strategically hung above the mart exhibition.

for the 6th time designboom hosted a group exhibition of international design professionals from around the world as part of the cultural program of the tokyo designers week 2010. at our famous market exhibition, visitors are able to meet the young avant-garde, discuss and buy self-produced or limited edition pieces directly from the designers.

in designboom's unique and world famous market exhibitions, visitors are not only able to meet the young avant-garde designers and become familiar with their work but also buy self-produced or limited edition pieces directly from the designers. profits through sales can be used towards partially covering any travel costs.

over the intense days of exhibiting and socializing, the designers have the chance to discuss their work with other like-minded professionals, customers, manufacturers, distributors, press and museum curators - verifying their designs and their packaging credentials.

after new york, sydney, saint-etienne, melbourne, copenhagen, stockholm and seoul, this unique formula now sees its 21st edition, since our very first mart in new york in 2005.

AMBIANCE started in November 1995. It has a good reputation for trade shows and the business continues for 15 years now. amnbiance has a high quality and good value collection in this field.

Ambiance organization held an exhibition in collaboration with the 'Workshop' in Paris which started in October 2004 in Tokyo and still going.

"We love magazine library", a magazine library / exhibit for magazines was held during a limited time and feature magazines from around the world. Visitors found fashion magazines, but also culture, interior design, lifestyle, photography, art, architecture, as well as independent magazines.

Visitors could read all the magazines on display, and subscribe to any of them at the subscription counter.

It is the 3rd edition of Magazine Library.

Kyouei design created a lighting installation for this space.

JFW in Tokyo aims to strengthen Tokyo's functions as a hub for fashion business from the following perspectives:

JFW built a framework that will give young designers with an interest in the Asian market an opportunity to try their hand in Tokyo.

JFW will continue to improve operations to present fruitful meet-ups between designers, manufacturers, and the apparel and retail industry.

JFW pursue broadened business opportunities not only for fashion, but also for designs around life such as interior design. Tokyo will become a more exciting place to live and work.
