bring a design souvenir back from tokyo! as part of the cultural program of the 100% design tokyo, designboom hosted a a group exhibition of 50 international design professionals from around the world.
already in its 5th year the tokyo mart 2009 designboom provided an unprecedented opportunity to meet the young avant-garde and become familiar with their work. visitors were able to buy design souvenirs and limited edition pieces directly from the designers themselves.
Kyouei design created a lighting installation for designboom mart.
"We love magazine library", a magazine library / exhibit for magazines was held during a limited time and feature magazines from around the world. Visitors found fashion magazines, but also culture, interior design, lifestyle, photography, art, architecture, as well as independent magazines.
Visitors could read all the magazines on display, and subscribe to any of them at the subscription counter.
Vintage magazines such as "FEMINA", a French fashion magazine dating back to the 1920s, and "Seventeen", full of girly fashion from 1940s to 1960s are exhibited.
Kyouei design created a lighting installation and sound mix for this space.

Oops! here I go again
The E · C · O (Ecological Creative Organization) project has organized the event, the workshop, and the competition, etc. that are centered the creators and artists have been stimulated "Ecology".
"Ecology" is made "more Fashion" the one with their hands, and it aims at the activity that becomes one chance to work from the people of a young generation who bears the next generation to environmental problems.
The organization promotes and supports for the young creators and the artists through E · C · O project.

now in it's fourth year the tokyo mart, once again provide an unprecedented opportunity to meet the young avant-garde and become familiar with their work. visitors were able to buy design souvenirs and limited edition pieces directly from the designers themselves.
from metal to ceramics, glass to fabrics, to recycled materials, with close to 100 beautiful objects on sale the mart achieved a good compromise between creativity and production.
kouichi okamoto solo exhibition
for two days, the designer kouichi okamoto exhibited his work at the shizuoka prefectural museum of art. the show included two lighting installations; 'mobile light' and 'bulb latern' along with the unveiling of new prototypes; 'plaster lamp'. 'water clock' 'glass wrap' and 'waribashi hashi'.
mobile light
a modular mobile unit which emits light using solar powered LED's. the fixtures emit become brighter automatically as the environment darkens.
okamoto created an installation with hundreds of mobile lights for the exhibition.
